HOW TO PLACE A PREORDER ONLINE

1. You can preorder a scissor at any time by placing an order online and selecting the PREORDER option, and at checkout select Bank Deposit.
2. In the notes let us know the size/blade orientation you are after.
3. Once your order comes through to us, please allow 1-2 business days for our accounts team to email you your invoice.
4. You then need to make a deposit of 50% to get your scissors into production. Mizutani Scissors are handmade and take a minimum of 12 weeks to make for you. If your scissors is already coming and unreserved, we will let you know.

HOW LONG WILL MY PREORDER TAKE?

Preorders take a minimum of 12 weeks production from paying your deposit. Custom colours, and specialty scissors may extend production times.

We ask for your patience along the way. The Mizutani Japan team works very hard to get your scissors ready as soon as possible. If you have any questions along the way, please let us know.

HOW ARE MY SCISSORS MADE?

All Mizutani scissors are carefully handmade by skilled craftsman in Mizutani Japan. Mizutani Scissors are available in almost every country worldwide and all of the scissors come from the one Mizutani factory. It takes years of training and many different skills to become a scissor smith and it takes a minimum of 12 weeks to make your Mizutani Scissors for you. Everything from the metal creation, to the metal tempering for hardness, to the physical carving out of your scissors, involves the skill of people to do for you.

ARE THERE ANY CURRENT DELAYS IN PRODUCTION?

At the moment, the demand for Mizutani Scissors is increasing worldwide. And with the intense training and skills required to make these scissors, it is almost impossible to decrease production times while the demand has increased. For these reasons, if you do have a Mizutani scissor on order, and it’s taking longer than you had hoped, please be patient and know that it will be worth the wait! The staff at the Mizutani Japan factory are some of the hardest and longest working people of the world and they are doing everything possible to meet all the expectations of customers around the globe while maintaining the quality of the scissors.
